Chad Derrick Spaar, 59, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on June 14, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health Hospital, Waycross, GA, due to heart complications.
Chad was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and spent much of his youth in Montana, where he attended high school. After earning his CDL certification, Chad spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession that took him across the country and reflected his love of independence and travel. One of Chad’s proudest moments and achievements was being awarded the 1 Million Miles Accident Free award.
Chad was known for his easy-going nature, polite demeanor, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a passion for tinkering with cars and trucks, and could often be found with a wrench in hand. He also had a talent for drawing, and those close to him often admired his quiet creativity. Chad had a few endearing quirks—most notably, his love for raw cookie dough, a treat he never outgrew.
Chad is survived by his mother, Loretta Spaar of Luverne, MN; his brother, Jason (Carissa) Spaar of Sioux Falls, SD; his niece, Janessa Spaar of Mayville, ND; and his two sons, Justin Pelawa and Jesse Spaar; cousin Patricia (Philip) Sturges of Waycross, GA. He was married to Charlene Evens for one year.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Spaar, and his brother, Daniel Spaar.
Chad's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared and the quiet kindness he offered so freely.
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to serve the Spaar family.
