Mac grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he enjoyed playing basketball, golf, hunting and scouting - which included earning the God and Country Award and the Silver Award. He attended NC State and majored in chemical engineering. His work took him and his family from North Carolina to California, Florida and finally to Arizona, where they settled in 1978. During his 60 years in engineering, he kept his mind sharp, held multiple patents, and could always tell his kids why they needed algebra. While his career took him to numerous countries, his favorite place was at home with his wife. Mac had a passion for deep sea fishing, gardening, grilling, and could repair just about anything.
Mac is survived by his loving spouse of 58 years, Bettie; his daughters Christina and Carol (Todd); his son Rob (Kristine); his grandchildren Meagan, Andrew, Caitlyn, Danielle, and Raleigh; and his sister Ann.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mountain View Lutheran Church or the MVL Ahwatukee preschool.
