Chandra N. “Buddy” Doodnauth, 67, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Buddy was born on February 22, 1958, in Guyana. He later made his way to Florida, moving to Fort Pierce in 2002 from Fort Lauderdale, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and generosity. Prior to his retirement, Buddy was employed at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center.
Buddy was an outdoorsman at heart who loved fishing and hunting. He was a friend to many. He was also well known for his love of cooking and feeding everyone around him. Sharing meals was one of the ways he showed love, and his fried rice, chow mein and special pork were especially famous among family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jasime Jailall of Fort Pierce, Florida; daughter, Kamenie Doodnauth and her husband Mike of Orlando, Florida; son, Robert Roopnarine of Fort Pierce, Florida; brothers, Morris Doodnauth of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Henry Doodnauth, of New York; sister, Mordi Doodnauth of New York; and his cherished grandchild, Makayla.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, Florida. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
