Charles Vernon Meador, a beloved brother, respected employee, and devoted member of his church, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Lenexa, Kansas. He was born on July 27, 1942, in Olathe, Kansas, where he spent his formative years and developed a strong foundation that would guide him throughout his life.
Charles spent his career as an employee of Universal Underwriters, an insurance company, where his professionalism was marked by dedication and commitment, reflecting a work ethic that mirrored his strong faith.
A proud veteran, Charles served his country as a member of the Kansas Army National Guard. He was deployed to Viet Nam in 1968 and this experience instilled in him values of discipline and service.
Charles was also an active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, where his faith remained a cornerstone of his life. His unwavering belief and participation in church activities enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He was faithful in his duties, which included teaching a Sunday school, going on mission trips, and being a member of the session as an elder for many years. He also attended many church conferences over the course of his life.
Charles is survived by his brothers, Darrell (Betty) of Shawnee; Jay (Jeannie), of Pomona; his nephews, Kevin (Leslie), Jeff (Hope), and Josh (Sabrina), and his nieces, Stephanie Anderson (Garren), and Leslie Wise (Shawn). He leaves a legacy of love, faith, and commitment that will continue to resonate within his family and church.
