Charlene Overton Obituary

Charlene Overton, age 76, of Newburg, MD died on September 15, 2022 in La Plata, MD.

Charlene was born on March 6, 1946 in Clairfield, TN to the late Charles Owens and the late Edith (Powers) Owens. She moved to MD from Harlen, KY in 1985 and has been a resident of Charles County for 37 years. Charlene was a homemaker and an avid fan of the Washington Commanders Football Team. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Charlene is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Lee Overton, and her sister, Linda Ridenour.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Overton and Melinda Drumm (Francis); brother, Kenneth Owens (Kathy); sister, Charlotte Snodderly (Joe); grandchildren, Matthew Long (Ola), Kayla Stark, Korey Hamlet, Aidan Drumm; great-grandchildren, Meadow Long, Melody Long, and Kairow Long. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Charlene will be held a Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646) on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm with a service at 7pm.

Interment will be held at Powell Valley Cemetery in LaFollette, TN.
