Charlene White passed away February 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 14, 1951, in Seattle, Washington. Charlene dedicated many years of service to the George West Independent School District in food service, where she became affectionately known as “The Cookie Lady.”
Charlene was preceded in death by Wilfred and Rita Katzfey; and her brother, Tom Moses.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert White; her children, Quentin and Tiffany White, and Roxy White and her husband, William Manley; her granddaughter, Madison White; as well as Mark Katzfey, Andrew Katzfey and Ali Katzfey and Edie Katzfey; and her two sisters, Margaret Bush and Evelyn Hengst.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 27, at St. George Catholic Church in George West, followed by burial at the Gussettville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Manley, Roxy White, Madison White, Kristy Reid, Jimmy Reid, Barry White and Andrew Katzfey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
