Charles Leon Allen, age 87, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born on Dec. 19, 1938, in Delta, Ohio, to Ralph and Lorena (Kolbe) Allen. He was baptized April 30, 1939, and later confirmed on March 29, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, Ohio. Charles was a current member of Lyons Christian Church in Lyons, Ohio.
Charles started his 43 year truck driving career at Miller Trucking in Archbold, Ohio, in 1964 which later became FleetMate Trucking until his retirement in 2007.
He was a simple man, but what did bring a smile to his face was deer hunting in Wyoming, his love of horses, spending his summers in the hayfield and especially his love for his family.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rosalind; daughter, Missy (Brent) Good; grandson, Mason Good; sister, Donna (John) Knoechelman; brother, Fred (Alice) Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Allen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the Lyons Christian Church, 138 Morenci St., Lyons, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the church, with Pastor Heather Schimmel officiating. Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.
The family of Charles would like to give a special "Thank You" to Dr. Yoder, Dr. Wong, Dr. Boyle and Nurse Dave along with everyone at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Tiffany.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Lyons Christian Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
