Charles Elbert Armstrong

Charles Elbert Armstrong, 57, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Mission Hospital McDowell with his loving wife, Lolita, by his side.
He was born in Burke County on November 17, 1964 to Omelia Connelly Armstrong and the late Robert Jackson Armstrong. His sister, Emily Ann Banner, also precedes him in death.
Charles was a graduate of Freedom High School. He was a true people person who had friends all over. He was always ready to greet others with a smile. Charles was full of energy and will be remembered for his ever-present happy spirit. To know Charles was to love him.
Along with his mother, Omelia Armstrong, he is survived by his wife, Lolita Scott Armstrong; his daughter, Alyssa Ingram; two grandchildren who they raised, Davonte Scott and Nyree Scott; three stepdaughters, Nenishia Scott, Sheenia Scott, and Rosalynn Moore; his brother, Perry Connelly (Lakita) of Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Eli, Cameron, Keylan, Zoey, Ahmariah, Shilah, Donte, Dorrean, Nathan, Maylasia, and Broylan; one great grandchild on the way; three brothers-in-law, Randy Scott, Ronnie Scott, Bobby Rutherford; and sister-in-law, Amy Rutherford; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends including a special friend, Chali Young.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 01, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Albert Hillman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton.
