Charles is survived by his sons, Jack Brian Carona, Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, and Dale Carona and his wife, Lisa; daughters, Angela Milazzo and her husband, John, Sr., and Alison Varnado and her husband, Rodney; grandchildren, Jack Brian Carona, Jr. (Adrienne), Candice Carona Sledge, Amanda Milazzo Malachowski (Matthew), John Milazzo, Jr.(Megan), Scott Sandage, Jr.(Amy), Caitlin Carona Rotolo (Mitchell), Joshua Milazzo(Chelsea), Matthew Carona (Kayla), and Alex Milazzo (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Sledge, Clay Sledge, Jax Mercante, Gryffin Sandage, Palmer Sandage, Margaret Ann Malachowski, Robert Michael Malachowski, Marie Adele Carona, Eleanor Christine Malachowski, Jeanne Louise Carona, Rosalina Rotolo, Olsen Sandage, John Milazzo III, Giovanna Rotolo, Luca Rotolo, Porter Milazzo, Camille Margaret Carona, Maven Milazzo, Charlie Milazzo, James Milazzo, and Jack Milazzo; his brother Freddie Baglio and his wife, Cynthia; sister Ann Powell and her husband, Cecil ; nephew Sean Baglio; and nieces, Lisa Baglio Cullop (Shannon) and Rebecca. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Micele Baglio; and daughter Marcie Carona; and nephew, Jason Baglio. Coach Charles Baglio, affectionately known as "Coach Bags," left an indelible mark on the world of sports and education, but more importantly, on the countless lives he touched. His career spanned over five decades, beginning with an impressive 34 years at Independence High School, where he served as head coach for 22 years. Coach Bags led his team to nine district titles and two state championship appearances, but his greatest pride was in mentoring and shaping the young athletes who looked up to him. In 2002, Baglio joined the LSU Tigers as Director of External Relations, where he played a key role through three head coaches, three national championships, and numerous bowl victories. After 21 years with LSU Football, he retired with a legacy of dedication, humility, and passion for the game. Known for his sharp mind and competitive spirit, Coach Bags also enjoyed an active retirement, playing golf, working out at North Cypress Fitness, and savoring trips to the casino. His most cherished moments, however, remained the relationships he built, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and excellence. The love of his life, Margaret Ann, was always by his side, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Coach Bags will be deeply missed, but his impact will be felt for generations to come. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. I´m so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you all. May God give you comfort during this very difficult time. Please know that your loved one is safe in God´s memory (Proverbs 14:14,15). Just as God brought his son Jesus Christ back to life, he will do the same for your loved one as he has promised.
