Charles Bailey, known to his many friends and family as “Sarge” was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on October 13, 2024, after a short illness. He was born on July 28, 1936, to Grant and Christine Bailey in Hugo, Oklahoma.
A visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with services to follow at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Rev. McKee Williams. Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be friends and members of the Shrine. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. located at Lakeview Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 5000 W Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604.
Charles graduated from Spring Hill High School in Longview, Texas. He proudly served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. Charles was an active Shriner with El Karubah Unit and he operated a local auto sales company in Shreveport until his death.
Charles is survived by his son, David Bailey and his wife June of Wichita, Kansas; grandson, Clayton Bailey and his family of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Brenda and John Rounds of Oroville, Washington; grandson, Terry and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Lasyone; and son, Richard Bailey.
