Charles Bauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Crematory - St. Petersburg on Mar. 17, 2026.
Charles Allan Bauer, aged 63, passed away on March 14, 2026, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born on September 25, 1962, in Pontiac, Michigan, Charles was a man who embodied the values of dedication, service, and family.

Charles served honorably as a Marine, a commitment that reflected his deep love for his country. After his military service, he continued to serve his community as a police offer and a business operational specialist, roles in which he demonstrated his integrity and commitment to helping others.

He was a man of simple pleasures, a devoted father, and an avid golfer. His love for Frank Sinatra's music often filled his home, and he cherished moments spent with his beloved dog, Winslow. Charles's sense of humor was captured in his last words, "I got to go, I got to go golf," showing his passion for the game until the end.

Charles is survived by his children, Joseph Robert (Kendall) Bauer, Christopher Allan (Kristen) Bauer, and Jessica (William Mann) Bauer; his step-children, Sydney (Timothy) Bass and step-son-in-law Christian Ocasio; grandchildren, Jaxon and Braden Bauer; and siblings, Leeann Beckley, Cheryl Hernandez, and Thomas Bauer. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Loretta Bauer; step-daughter, Alyssa Ocasio; and his dog, Winslow.

Services to honor Charles's life will be held at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22192, on Thursday, March 26, visitation from 5 – 7 PM. Funeral Service on Friday, March 27, at 8 AM, with Interment to follow at National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, where he will be laid to rest with military honors. Charles's life was a testament to his values of God, country, and family, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
