Charles Bray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel - Bowling Green on Jan. 23, 2026.
Charles Philip "Peewee" Bray, age 77, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, at The Medical Center of Bowling Green, surrounded by the love of his family.

Peewee was married to his devoted wife, Reda. The two were united in marriage on November 15, 1991, and shared 34 wonderful years together.

Peewee was the beloved son of the late Charlie and Agnes Bray. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Becky Hudnall and Gylua Jean Bray, and by his great-granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Johnson.

Peewee retired from Holley Carburetor after 49 years of dedicated service, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment. He attended Bethany Baptist Church and was a man of faith, finding comfort, guidance, and peace in the Word of God throughout his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Reda; his son, Shane Watkins (Darenda); his grandchildren, Tyler Watkins (Savannah) and Teylor Johnson (Ryan); and his great-grandchildren, Carson Watkins, Clayton Watkins, Lily Johnson, Reese Johnson, Brooks Johnson, and Evie Johnson.

Family was the heart of Peewee's life. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather who found his greatest joy in time spent with his family. Whether attending ball games, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying being together, Peewee made everyone in his family feel deeply loved and valued. His love for them was constant, unconditional, and evident in everything he did. They were truly his pride and joy, and his legacy lives on through each of them.

Peewee had a lifelong passion for golf, a game he truly loved and enjoyed sharing with others. Some of his happiest days were spent on the golf course or on the banks fishing. He loved watching sports and was an extremely dedicated fan of University of Kentucky basketball, rarely missing a game and always cheering on the Wildcats. Whether on the course, by the water, or watching a game, Peewee embraced life's simple pleasures and enjoyed them most when shared with family.

Peewee will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

The family will receive friends and visitors Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 10 am to 8 pm and Thursday, January 29 from 9 am until funeral service at 2 pm at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
