Charles Burst Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holt Family Funeral Home on Mar. 21, 2024.
Charles William (Bill) Burst. Bill sadly left us on March 17th 2024 following a long fight with cancer at the age of 71.
Bill was born in Tell City, Indiana on January 28, 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of 44 years; children, Nikki (Jason), Kelli (Nic), David (Tiffany), Robyn (Adam); sister, Caren (Lyle); grandchildren, Kyle, Adrienne, Madelyn, Jackson, Sejkora, Jace, Gage, Peyton, Braxton, Cody, Lukas, and Kennedy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Geneva Burst; sister, Charlene Burst; and brother, Jeff Burst.
Bill was born in Indiana but grew up in Colorado. He graduated from High School in 1971. He married Karen (Jonker) in 1979 and together raised 4 amazing children. They lived in Golden, Co then lived in Monument, Co for 31 years.
In 2019, Bill and Karen moved to Penrose, Co and every day Bill noticed the beautiful mountains and peacefulness and would say "I just love it here". He enjoyed working so much that retirement never really worked out for him. He was an accomplished heavy equipment operator and worked for various construction companies. He worked on pipe lines and water treatment plants. He was a hard dependable worker. He loved building things and built two of the homes the family lived in. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, ATV's, camping and classic cars. He gave friendship and joy to people he worked with and that he met along life's path. He filled our home with love, laughter, and many good memories to cherish.
The Burst family would like to give special recognition and sincere thanks to Fremont Regional Hospice of Canon City, Colo for the care that was given to us during this difficult time.
Celebration of Life at Secret Window, Monument, Colorado Friday May 24th 4 to 7 pm
