Charles Jonah Byers Jr., 68 of Charlottesville passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was the eldest son of the late Charles J. Byers Sr. and Elizabeth Sims Byers. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Eddie and Brenda Byers of Stanardsville. He is also survived by one nephew, Michael Wright (Hattie) of Ruckersville, six nieces, Ashley Wright of Ruckersville, Amanda Nelson (Abe), Kari Byers-Keegan (Tommy) both of Stanardsville, Erin Adcock (Kurt) of Ruckersville, Sydney Walters and Taylor Walters of Orange. He is also survived by numerous great nephews and great nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel (Danny) Byers and by a sister Mary Wright.

Charles faithfully attended Calvary Chapel of Charlottesville for nearly 25 years. He had many friends there and enjoyed going to Church. Over the years, he worked in various capacities at various establishments primarily in the food service industry.

The family would like to thank Region Ten Community Services Board for many years of support and assistance to Charles. We also thank his pastor and friends at Calvary Chapel for their Christian love and kindness.

The family will receive friends at the Hill and Wood funeral home in Ruckersville on Thursday, December 4 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. There will be a funeral service at the same location on Friday, December 5 at 2 p.m. Pastor Chad Myhre will officiate.
