Charles "Chuck" Caes passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023 with his family by his side at The Villa at Suffield Meadows in
Warrenton, Virginia. Chuck was born on September 25, 1941 in
Jersey City, New Jersey to parents Charles Gustav Caes and Theresa Frances Vena Caes.
Chuck is a graduate of Seton Hall University (BS, MA English, Communications and General Business Studies) and Columbia
Teacher's College at Columbia University (Master of Education, Communication and Media Studies) and Averett University (MBA Business Administration).
He served in the United States Navy on the USS Hornet sailing the Western Pacific as a Public Information Officer and Journalist from 1962 to 1966.
Chuck then entered civilian life as a technical writer for many prestigious businesses before retiring from Northrop Grumman where he wrote more than 100 manuals on electronics and computer programming.
He was a published author writing numerous books on the stock market, business, astronomy, astrophysics, religious philosophy, and investment math.
Chuck spent time teaching his business practices at universities, community colleges, and local high schools.
He enjoyed walking the trails in Shenandoah National Park, vacationing on Hilton Head Island with his family, and excursions to Washington D.C. to visit museums with his granddaughter.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and Karen, his beloved wife of fifty-five years. His most cherished book was the one he co-authored with her titled A Christmas in Princeton. He is survived by his daughter Pamela L. Leake, and her husband
Michael T. Leake, a granddaughter Caitlin M. Leake of
Warrenton, Virginia, and a son Stephen K. Caes of
Reston, Virginia.
Also surviving is a sister Connie Caes of
Warwick, New York and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chuck's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at The Villa at Suffield Meadows for their wonderful care.
Services will be private at the Washington Masonic Cemetery in
Washington, Virginia with Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating.
