Charles D. “Chuck” Powell, 80, died Monday, October 9th at his home in Wadsworth.
Chuck was born January 11, 1943, in Barberton, Ohio to Roy and Donna {Messner} Powell.
He graduated from Norton High School.
He married Karen Jennings on August 26, 1960.
Chuck was the Owner and CEO of Precision Aluminum Inc. in Wadsworth for more than 15 years, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication. He was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church, where his active involvement brought support to the community.
Chuck had a passion for a variety of hobbies and interests. He found solace and joy in fishing, took to the skies as a private pilot, and was a member of the Wadsworth Airmen’s Association. Chuck was not only an avid car enthusiast but also an accomplished car builder and drag racer. His expertise in classic automobile restoration earned him international recognition.
Chuck's multifaceted talents and his generous spirit touched the lives of many, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chuck will be deeply missed by his children; Tom (Lana) Powell, Denise (Shawn) George, and Jennifer (Scott) Rowan; grandchildren Diana (Daryl) Slaughter, Jacob (Molly) George, Alyssa (Adam) Huffman, Ashley (AJ) Derby, Joseph (Kellie) George, Steve Crowder, James George, and Clayton Johnsen; great-grandchildren Parker, Emmalynn and Kendal Huffman, Jack and Luke Slaughter, Colton Derby, Henry, Madelyn and Gavin George; sister Linda Sloan and a loving companion Sharyn Pappas.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister Sue Reese.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Philip Decker officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
