I worked at First Bank Minneapolis and Chuck was one of my Soo Line customers. It was always a pleasure to see him as he was such a gentleman, so nice to work with, and always had a smile on his face. Sorry for your loss.

It's difficult to say goodbye. When I think of Chuck, it brings back so many family gatherings, the years blur and I see the usual happy families everywhere in the house (usually Uncle Jergies and Aunt Eleanor's), tables groaning with food and the wonderful smell of coffee. Chuck and Audrey (and actually everyone) happy and smiling and talking. He lives in our hearts, just as the rest of those other lovely people do. I love you guys. Cindy

I got to know Mr. Clay when he worked with my dad at the firm. The Clays also lived around the block from us in Edina, and I knocked on their door for many years to sell Girl Scout cookies, wrapping paper, and wreaths. Mr. Clay was so kind and always inquired how my siblings and I were doing. I know that he provided a lot of guidance to my father in his career and that he was an excellent mentor who will be missed.

I will always remember Mr. Clay's warmth and determination as he made his way through the various parks to watch his granddaughter Helen play sports. He was a man who accomplished so much in his lifetime, yet was never ready to retire from life as he continued to share love and energy with all around him.

I haven't seen Chuck in years. My memories of the Clay family is through our relationship with our Aunt Vivian and the Brown family. We spent time as kids with their kids at family functions.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Clay and the attorneys of Head, Seifert & Vander Weide as one of my first secretarial jobs. He was kind, funny and always had a smile and a wave on his way by our desks. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him.

Janis, Elam, Audrey and all the Clay family. I so enjoyed running into Chuck during the years I was part of Minnesota' railroad world and then after. I always knew a smart, engaging conversation about Minnesota issues du jour was sure to follow. My thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Chuck Clay lived a long, well-lived, purposeful life. No small thing, that.

I have worked and known Chuck for 23 years. I have to say that he was the easiest attorney to work for. I enjoyed working with him and learning about the railroad business. I'm really going to miss him.

I'm the youngest cousin on the Jorgenson (Audrey's) side and remember being awed by my glamorous older cousins. I don't have a first memory of Chuck, but I have a "composite" memory of a handsome man who generally was quiet and dignified, but with a delightful sense of humor. His love for his beloved Audrey, their children, and grandchildren was evident to all of us. We treasure the wonderful poems that accompanied Christmas cards in recent years because they helped us to glimpse Chuck's deep love for the family. We grieve his death but rejoice in his rich, deep, and loving life.

Audrey, I am truly sorry about Chuck's passing and that I can't be there at this time. He obviously meant a lot to me and my career and he will be greatly missed.

My first memory of "Mr. Clay" was when I was in college with Jan. He drove me downtown either for an interview or to take the pharmacy college aptitude test. Either way, he was such a reassuring presence at an anxious time. It was always a pleasure to hear what new interests and accomplishments he pursued!
