Charles "Charlie" Edmund Couch, 78, of Niota, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2026, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Charlie was blessed with a true gift for singing and shared that talent as a member of the gospel group Day Spring 2. He sang gospel music for more than 35 years, and even recorded an album in Nashville.
Charlie proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army with B Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, Mongoose Bravo. He later retired after many years as a dedicated truck driver. Charlie also enjoyed playing table tennis. Charlie will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jennifer Couch; father, Leo Couch; mother, Helen Wiener Freeman; and sister, Patricia White. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Laura Couch; son, Jeremy Couch; brother, Michael Couch;two half-sisters, Kasey Marti and Kathy Jo Hollis; friend, Rick Robinson and may other loved family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 12, at Companion Funeral Home of Athens, Tennessee. A visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. to noon. A graveside service will follow at Citico Baptist Church Cemetery in Vonore, Tennessee.
