Charles R. Cresta

OBITUARY Charles R. Cresta, Sr., of Wakefield, age 79, died on Tuesday, September 24 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a long illness. Born in Italy on August 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Nicola and Filomena (Dragonetti­) Cresta. Mr. Cresta came to Wakefield as a young boy and graduated from Wakefield High School, Class of 1952. He was a retired HVAC Mechanic, an avid gardener, and a member of St. Florence Church. He served 4 years military service in the United States Air Force. Mr. Cresta was the beloved husband of Dora A. (Meuse) Cresta. He was the loving father of Charles R. Cresta Jr. and his wife Mary, and Marie B. LaCroix and her husband Richard. He was the brother of Mario Cresta and Aurora DeVine both of Wakefield, Larry Cresta of Billerica, John Cresta of Lowell, and the late Sam, Armando, and Nancy Cresta, Grace Jensen, and Rose Bruno. Funeral services in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home are private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
