Charles "Ray" Deming, 89, of Perry passed away peacefully Saturday August 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family while listening to his favorite hymns. Ray was born August 30, 1935 in Thompson, Ohio to Esther (nee Conant) and Howard Deming.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Perry graduating from Perry High School in 1954 where he enjoyed competing in football, basketball and track. He married Phyllis L. Langshaw on September 10, 1955 and had three children. He enjoyed working with his hands and built their first home in the 1960's and his current home in 1971. Ray was a partner in starting C&D Heating and Sheet Metal in 1960 and later started his own business R&D Heating and Sheetmetal which is still in existence today. He attended Bible Baptist Church in Madison and was active in church renovation projects and missions. He also served in the Army Reserve.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Brian) Cunningham; sons, Barry (Susan) Deming, James (Linda and step daughter Amanda) Deming; 4 grandchildren, Mary (Samuel) Pittman, Brian (Stephanie) Deming, Marcus (Ashley) Deming, Caleb Deming; 5 great grandchildren, Elliott, Sophia, April, Charleigh and Harrison. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis; grandson, Seth; brothers, Oliver, Richard, and Henry Deming; half-brothers, Jack, Jim, and Jess Wood; sisters, Dorothy Cole and Harriet McQueary and half sister, June Keener.

Friends will be received from 5:00 – 7:30 PM on Thursday August 21, 2025 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio 44057. A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 3003 Narrows Road, Perry, Ohio 44081 on Friday August 22, 2025, at 11:00am. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 -11:00am. The Final Resting Place will be Perry Cemetery following the service.
