Charles Dennis Obituary

Charles C. "Chuck" Dennis, age 69, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born December 24, 1955 in Baltimore, MD, he was raised on Liberty Road in Randallstown/Harrisonville, MD, moving to Owings Mills, MD from 1978 to 1987 before moving to Hampstead, MD. He is the husband of Sandra L. Dennis. He was the son of the late Sidney C. and Daisy M. Dennis, née Rollins. Chuck graduated from Randallstown Sr. High in 1973 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, while still in high school, at the end of the Vietnam War. He served 15 months in Incirlik CDI, Turkey under TUSLOG DET16, AFCS during the Cypress War and Turkish Arms Embargo, before returning to Dover AFB. He retired in 2005 from Baltimore County Electronic Services and Telecommunications where he served as a Mechanic, Technician, Asst. Superintendent and Chief. He served as Chairman of the Baltimore County Tower Review Committee. He held many jobs before and after Baltimore County Government. Working for George Bopst, Lawrence Schaffer, Bosley Construction, Maryland Pump and Tank, and Atlantic Richfield. He loved driving school buses and enjoyed the children he transported. Chuck was a life member of the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company, and a life member of the Arcadia/Upperco Volunteer Fire Company. He was a past member of the Owings Mills Fire Company and Hampstead Fire Company. He was an associate member of the Maryland Fire Chief's Association. He was one of the original Associated Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO) Region 20 Communication's members responsible for developing the original 800 MHz radio plan for Maryland, DC and the six Northern Virginia Counties. Also responsible for working with Anne Arundel County in developing Memoranda for sharing 800MHz systems for Mutual Aid. He was a member of American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead. Chuck was an avid genealogist growing fond of his Irish and Prussian Heritage. He was also a Master Model Builder, and a gifted Mechanic and Technician. He loved building and running model railroads. Surviving in addition to his wife Sandy are his son Michael of Hampstead, MD, as well as his grandchildren Jackson and Owen; his sister Darlene Schwartz and husband Edmund as well as sister Denise Schwartz and husband Thomas. There will be no viewing and interment will be private at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
