Charles Eugene Dispain, born on April 26, 1933, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 4, 2025 in the comfort of his home. A devoted preacher, mentor, brother, and friend, Charles spent over six decades of his life serving others through his unwavering faith and dedication to spreading the Gospel. Charles had a love of gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Charles proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from September 1953-1955. Charles was a dedicated and cherished member of Ozora Baptist Church.
Charles began his ministry in 1963 and touched countless lives with his powerful sermons, compassionate heart, and steadfast commitment to the Lord. His love for God and people was evident in every aspect of his life. Through his leadership, he led many individuals to Christ and fostered strong, supportive communities within the churches he served.
Known for his kindness, humility, and wisdom, Charles had a unique ability to connect with people of all walks of life. His passion for ministry and his deep love for his family, friends, and congregation were central to his existence. He was an example of Christ's love in all he did, whether behind the pulpit or in his daily interactions.
Charles is survived by his child, Cheryl and Joel Cunningham, grandchildren and great-grand-children, Eric Bailey and his children Nathan and Noah, Angie and Curt Hamrick and their children C.J. and Maci, Neal Cunningham, and Kathleen and Michael Macchio, brothers and sisters, Martha Jones, Hollis and Evelyn Dispain, Margie Winn, Helen Alewine, James and Melba Dispain and many other family members, friends, and spiritual children who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents Gailey and Hattie Bell Dispain, beloved wife Martha Sue Dispain, and son Barry Eugene Dispain.
A service to celebrate his life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Holloway and Rev. Ronnie Redd officiating.
Charles life will be remembered as a testament to God's grace, love, and faithfulness. He now rests in eternal peace with the Lord he served so faithfully.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. 770-962-3100. Please sign the online guest registry at www.stewartfh.com.
