Charles Robert Drummond
Charles Robert Drummond, known as Chuck, died in Pawhuska on Friday, November 4. Chuck was a well-loved father, grandfather, cattleman and friend.
Chuck was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on March 12, 1943. He was president of his senior class and earned 36 merit badges as a Boy Scout. Chuck graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1961 and studies Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Chuck married Nan Olsen of Hardy, Oklahoma on August 17, 1964. After graduating from OSU in 1965, Chuck and Nan moved to their ranch near Pawhuska, where they raised three sons. Chuck became a Boy Scout leader and was elected president of Osage County Cattleman's Association in 1974. He was later inducted into the OCCA Hall of Fame. In 1979, he was named Osage County Top Conservationist. Chuck enjoyed raising and showing cutting horses and was a top ten breeder in the industry for many years. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2015.
Family and ranching were Chuck's two primary passions in life. He did not sit on many boards or committees, instead spending all of his time working on the ranch and building relationships. Chuck saw great highs and lows in the cattle business throughout his fifty-plus years as a rancher, and he gained valuable perspectives and insights that he willingly shared with his children and grandchildren.
Chuck is survived by his sons Tim Drummond and his wife Missy of Pawhuska, and Ladd Drummond and his wife Ree of Pawhuska; grandchildren Alex Scott and her husband Mauricio, Caleb Drummond, Paige Drummond, Halle Drummond, Bryce Drummond and Todd Drummond; as well as loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son, Todd Olsen Drummond, his parents, Fred Alexander Drummond and Ruth Thatcher Drummond, his brother, Tom E. Drummond, his sister, Patricia A. Drummond, and his beloved wife, Nan Olsen Drummond.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at Presbyterian Disciples Church in Pawhuska on Monday, November 14, at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, Chuck's contributions can be made to:

Just found out today that Mr. Drummond has gone home to the Lord.
I'm sure he is happy now with his loved ones before him in the loving presence of the Lord. But I am sad and feel a loss knowing he is not among us now. May the peace of Jesus reign in all your hearts for we know we will all meet someday in the love of God's kingdom. Peace.

I am catching up on taped
shows of the "The Drummond
Ranch" with many tears of joy
right now. I loved the concept
of hard work being passed down
within the family and food to
fuel that energy that started with Chuck many years ago.
Keep him close everyday with
all those special recipes of love.
I will keep Mr. Chuck close when
I have anything chocolate!
Kind regards to all,

What a beautiful legacy Chuck leaves. Hard work, family and friendships. Those are the things that truly matter, and what he so obviously valued. God bless you all as you navigate this difficult time. Chuck was one of a kind.

I just watched the PW episode of PaPa´s favorite foods and learned that Chuck Drummond had passed last year. I was so sad for him upon learning his wife had passed and felt for him as I have had similar experience. What a lovely man and a lovely family. You all were blessed to have him and he was blessed to have you. Hoping many future blessings to come to you all in this journey we have in common called life. Keep up the love and devotion and keep God and family in your hearts and soul .

I live in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Pioneer Woman is one of my favorite shows. I´ve been watching as the kids have grown up, and sadly, I just saw on the show that Papa Chuck passed away last year. I read Papa Chuck´s obituary and am
not surprised that he was a man of many accomplishments. I loved his sense of humor and love for his family. Please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be missed by many, even by those who didn´t personally know him.

I just recently heard that Chuck (papa) died. I am a Pioneer Woman fan and looked forward to seeing papa. We called my grandfather papa and our grandmother nana. Both of my grandparents are gone and I think of them all of the time. I am sure you miss him Ladd and miss your time together, especially as he grew older. He loved his chocolate and his chocolate cake. I loved the episode when he was making his famous fudge. I cry for your loss and the loss his friends and fans feel. I could see how the family loved him. As a matter of fact I am watching an episode now where Rhee made him strawberry shortcake cake for his birthday. Papa really enjoyed food which is any cooks dream. He was so down to earth and I remember when he was driving on the the ranch saying there was no other place he wanted to be. I love watching the kids shop for his presents. He really loved his family and anyone could see he he loved Rhee´s cooking and spending time with the kids. I was sad for him and the whole family when Nann died. I am sure that it helped him cope a little when you all were updating your family cemetery. Now he and Nann are smiling together in heaven forever happy. God bless.

I am just a Pioneer woman fan and half of that reason is because of Chuck! He was a good old fashioned hard working family loving man that appreciated the simple things in life! He reminded me with his stature, gravelly voice, hard working perfectionism and his personality of my own grandfather I have missed since I was 21. I watched looking forward to any episode with Pa Paw! I missed any tribute on her show of this and when I was watching one day it was hinted to, so I looked it up and when I found out that he went to be with his previous passed family members in Heaven, I balled my eyes out, like I lost my grandfather all over again because chuck although never personally met, I felt very close to because I grew up with my granfather like him and I felt as if he was a second grandfather. I always wanted to go there and meet him but unfortunately I just got to say a prayer to his soul in Heaven and told him how much I love him and will miss him. Love you dearly Pa Paw! Thank you for your life and legacy rest in peace with your family!

My condolences to the Drummond family. Chuck was a childhood friend of my two older brothers, Dan and Jim Sullivan. We lived at 1619 Bigheart until our father was called into the service in 1953. Chuck was wonderful to all of us Sullivan kids. Even stayed in the Drummond house, overnight when we were kids. Also, would go out to the ranch and ride horses, but for me, a pony.
Good memories.

Grew up working on that ranch in the late 70s and early 80s. Those were good men. Taught me a great work ethic. Every hard job I ever had to do the rest of my life was compared to working on the ranch. Rip Chuck

I lived across the street from the Drummond's on Grandview St. in Pawhuska in the early 1960's. Chuck and Tom were larger than life figures to us. They (including Fred, Ruth and Pat were very kind to us all.) We saw Chuck occasionally since then and he always greeted us so warmly.
