Charles Kenneth Edgley, 82, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on November 21, 2025, at Circle of Life in Bentonville. He was born on March 10, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas to the late Hugh and Hilda Edgley.

Dr. Edgley had a lifelong academic career as a university professor. He received a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University, a master's degree from Texas Tech University, and a PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. During his 55-year career, he made distinguished contributions to the field of sociology and authored multiple academic books as well as publications. Through the years, he held faculty positions at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater (32 years), and University of Arkansas, Little Rock. His distinctions in scholarship and teaching established a stellar reputation among his students and colleagues that would last a lifetime.

In addition to his academic work, he was a skilled pilot, avid golfer, and gourmet chef. He was devoted to family and friends. Chuck especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up. He loved people and his life's work.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sally Carter; three daughters, Erin Gudgel (Eric), Aimee Dotter (Wade), and Kristy Covington (Eric); 7 grandchildren, Gabe Gudgel (Julie), Grace Luckett (Cole), Grant Gudgel, Chloe Dotter, Luke Dotter, Carter Smith (Haley), and Garrett Covington; brothers, Mark Edgley (Mary), Kevin Edgley (Debi); and sister, Patricia Steinhoff (Neal); several nieces and nephews; additionally his first wife and dear friend, Betty Scott Edgley (married:1964-1987); and lastly, his loved and adored cat, Chloe.
