Charles Franklin Esteraich

Charles Franklin Esteraich, known to family and friends as Chuck, was born on January 25, 1951, in Lexington, Nebraska, and passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 74.
Chuck was raised on a Platte Valley, Nebraska farm by his parents, Irene and Byron Esteraich, alongside his brother Paul and sisters Lori and Jan. Those early years instilled a strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life.
Chuck moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 20, where he spent the rest of his life. In Phoenix, he found his calling in the hospitality industry, working at the Biltmore and the Princess resorts. He took pride in his profession and was well known for his dedication and skill.
Chuck had a deep love for food and enjoyed discovering new cuisines. He was also an avid coin collector. He was a regular at his church and found comfort and community there. In 1994, he married Joanne Goulet and together they raised a family that was central to his life.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne; his son, Ian (from first wife, Michele Gallo); his brother, Paul; and his parents, Irene and Byron. He is survived by his sisters, Lori Pirnie and Jan Esteraich; his grandson, Nolan Smoijan; his stepchildren, Emily, Rachelle, Christian, and Camella; and his nieces and nephews, Amy Mahoney, Jody Lieske, Rocky Esteraich, Katelyn Clark, Rob Pirnie, and Michael Pirnie. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on January 14, 2026, at Best Funeral Services, 501 East Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix. Graveside interment will take place beside his wife, Joanne, at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
