Charles Everett Estes, 73, died Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in Farmville, Virginia, on August 31, 1952 to the late Charles Willie Estes and Evelyn Hudson Estes. Everett loved the fresh outdoor life of rural living in Kenbridge, Virginia where he built his family home. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, caring for his farm animals, and spending time with his loving family and friends.
Everett is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances, his two daughters, whom he loved dearly, Holly Minter (Wade) and Jenny Estes (Kyle Alberti), and four granddaughters, Hayley, Kate, Ellie, and Emma (expected). He leaves behind his three loving sisters, Charlotte Gravitt, Nancy Berry (Nelson), and Brenda Perry (Wilson), and his loving brother, Bobby Estes. He loved his brothers-in-law, Lee, Matt, and Randy Meekins as brothers and he knew they always thought of him the same.
Everett appreciated the prayers he was blessed to receive from his family and friends and all who lovingly let him know he was constantly in their thoughts. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations to honor Everett may be made to Kenbridge Fire Department, where he served as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years.
