Charles Ira Fairchild, 58, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. A visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home.
Charles was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on January 19, 1966 to Harold and Nancy (Towell) Fairchild. Before graduating from High School, he enrolled in the Army and served for 7 ½ years before being honorably discharged. He worked at H.D. LEE in several positions for 5 years. He also worked at EDP Enterprises as a shift leader for several years. He would later go on to work at Walmart, where he worked his way up to Coach, and he made many friends amongst his coworkers.
He married Annette Clark on November 26, 1983 and together they had 3 loving children. Amanda (Michael) Snyder, Charles “Chuckie” (Jessica) Fairchild, and Zachariah Fairchild. Who in turn gave him 5 grandchildren: Curtis Ira Natur Snyder, Amber Rose Snyder, Michael Alexander Snyder, Gabriel Nathaniel Snyder and Emma Belle Fairchild.
Outside of work Charles loved listening to Christian music, enjoyed bowling on leagues, working in his dad’s auto paint shop and watching his Pittsburg Steelers football, but nothing was more important to him than his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Nancy Fairchild, and his son Charles “Chuckie” Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife Annette Fairchild, and his daughter Amanda, son Zachariah, brother Joseph Fairchild, his grandchildren, and his Uncle Dennis and Aunt Heather Fairchild and many cousins and nephews.
