Charles Fairless Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Broken Bow on Jan. 8, 2026.
Charles Franklin Fairless, age 74, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Mena, Arkansas. He was born on Saturday, September 29, 1951 to Henry Lee Fairless and Tranna Ethel Savage Fairless in Mena, Arkansas.

Charles was a loving, fun-spirited man whose easy smile, playful flirt, and gift for storytelling made everyone feel like a friend because to him, no one was ever a stranger. A hardworking and honest man, he proudly ran his own tree service business and gave his all to everything he did. He loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren, who were the world to him, and he cherished time spent hunting with them. Charles loved being on the river, camping in the woods, and soaking in the beauty of Colorado. A devoted man of God, Charles loved worshipping at the Whole Council of God Church in Cove, and no matter where his travels took him, he always found a church to stop and give praise. A good old country boy at heart, he was known for his boundless generosity, ready to give the shirt off his back even if he had nothing left, and for a caring heart that truly knew no limits. He loved his wife, Angie, with his whole being, and he leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, and love, remembered and cherished by the countless people whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Rita Jean Fairless, Carl Fairless, Neva Fisher, Bo Fairless, Marlon Fairless, and Frances Liles.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Angela Ann Fairless of Cove; four sons and daughters in law, William Lee of Mena, Eddie and Connie Lee of Ada, Michigan, Shane and Jean Bowen of Cove, Eric and Christina Fairless of Mena; Cynthia and David Smalley of Cove, Yolanda Lee of Muskegon, Michigan, Darla and Alex Gonzalez of Grand Haven, Michigan, Rhonda and Jesse Phillips of Amarillo, Texas, Annie Fairless of Eufaula, Oklahoma; three brothers and sister in law, Coy Fairless, Everett and Melanie Fairless, Calvin Fairless; three sisters and brother in law, Carolyn and Lewis Hammonds, Oleta Smith, Freda Gibson; twenty-nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a multitude of others that he considered family; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hatfield Auditorium in Hatfield, Arkansas with Brother Tim Smedley and Brother Robby Smalley officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
