Charles Wayne Garris, 79 of Wilson passed away Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Stantonsburg, 313 S Main Street, Stantonsburg. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. John Huckaby will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home.
Wayne is survived by his son, Charles “Chip” Wayne Garris, Jr. and wife, Robin of Wilson; grandchildren, Turner Garris, Mary Lynn Garris; his dearest friend, Martha Lou Murphey; sisters, Pat Gardner of Wilson and Claudia Matthews and husband, Mickey of Wilmington; brother, Donnie Garris of Wilson, and his fur baby, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Driver Garris.
