Charles Geiler 85, of Faucett, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at a local health care facility. He was born February 28, 1939 in St. Joseph to Bessie and Julius Geiler. He graduated from North Platte High School, class of 1957. He served in the US Army, based at Ft. Leonard Wood from 1957-1959. On February 12, 1960, he married June Wood in St. Joseph. Charles began his career at Westab, and later he worked at General Motors, retiring after 31 years. He loved outdoors and taking drives through Squaw Creek. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer, turkey, and mushrooms. He was very giving and enjoyed sharing his harvest. Charles was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma Young, and brother, Arthur Geiler. Survivors include: wife of 64 years, June Geiler, of the home, daughters, Pam (Fred) Meng of Troy, KS, Charlyne (Bill) Burns of St. Joseph, and Michelle (Vince) Lake of St. Joseph, brother, J.D. (Mary) Geiler of Cheyenne, WY, sister, Julie Philipi of Agency, MO, grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Darryl, Katarina, Tyler, and Blaisey, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and extended family, Bud Munsterman and Rick Terhune.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday. The family requests casual attire for the services. Memorials are requested to the Faucett Baptist Church or Missouri Department of Conservation.
