Charles William Haines, 58, of Anawalt, WV, passed peacefully on May 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 14, 1967, in Vineland, NJ, he was the son of the late James William and Helen Williams Haines. Charlie was a lifelong resident of McDowell County. Charlie worked in construction for many years; he was a hard worker and took pride in all he did. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. When Charlie wasn't working, he enjoyed rooting on the Dallas Cowboys. Charlie was also a member of the Brushfork Church of God.
Those left to cherish Charlie's memory are his wife, Kristi Haines, of the home; son, Cory Haines, of Blacksburg, VA; daughter, Charlee Haines Horn and husband Ronnie of Coalwood, WV; sister, Ann Potter and his brother-in-law, Dougie Potter, both of Princeton, WV; his grandsons, who were the light of his life, Zachery Wayne Horn and Zayden William Horn; nieces, Nicole Windley and husband Chase, and their daughter Cameron, and Olivia Potter and fiancé Gavin; many cousins; and special friend, Mike Davidson.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, May 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, with Pastor Jared Mitchell and Pastor Mary Lambert officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services, from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
