Charles Justin Hamilton, Jr., 86, of Owensboro died on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Wellington Parc. He was born in Petit, Kentucky to the late Charles Justin and Mary Aubrey Bowlds Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton grew up on the family farm and continued farming there for his entire life. He grew crops but he especially enjoyed the cattle.
Charles was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruby Mattingly.
Charles is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha McGovern Hamilton; sisters, Margaret Emma Thompson (Gene), Catherine Barrett Dermarest (Phillip), Mary Helen Merritt (Clarence), all of Owensboro, Martha Regina Pate (Joe) of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 4 at St. Anthony Catholic Church (Brown's Valley). Fr. Mike Clark will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 - 5 PM (with prayers at 4:30) and on Monday after 8:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society c/o St. Anthony Catholic Church, 261 St. Anthony Rd., Utica, KY 42376.
