Charles Hammock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Four Oaks Funeral Home, Inc. - Oneida on Dec. 29, 2025.
Charles Lester Hammock age 89, of the Pine Hill Community went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday December 28, 2025 at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born August 28, 1936. He was the son of the late Fred and Connie Stanley Hammock. He was a member and Sunday School teacher at Pine Creek Baptist Church for a many number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as the love of his life, Betty Lou Boyatt Hammock, one son Charles L. Hammock II (Chuck). Brother O.E. Hammock, special Uncle Tilman Stanley.
He and Betty were married March 31, 1962 and raised Chucky together making a wonderful life for his family. They faithfully attended church and he committed himself to teaching all ages about Christ in Sunday School at Pine Creek. He charmed both children and adults with his handmade wooden trucks and heavy equipment. Putting in countess hours in his woodshop working on handmade toys while Betty would be beside him painting and creating joy for anyone who received one. He was a pleasant quiet man but enjoyed talking about Maw and Paw, Mother, and Uncle Tilman and how he grew up on the farm with his brothers and sister at Pine Hill. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a Military Police and earned the medal of Sharp Shooter. He often spoke about his time in the military and all he had learned and accomplished. He retired after many years from HBD Industries.

Brother William (Bill) Hammock of Maynardville, TN, sister Freddy Joyce and husband Ken of Chattanooga, TN, brother Stanley Joe and wife Barbara of Kingston, TN and sister-in-law Dorma Hammock of Franklin, Tn as well as many other relatives and friends to remember this special soul.
