Charles Robert Heefner, age 71, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at his home after a two-year battle with brain cancer. He was born on August 8, 1953 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Robert and Ruth (Schaaf) Heefner.
A graduate of Seneca East High School, Charlie worked at Niedermier Sunoco for nearly 50 years. He enjoyed woodworking and completely remodeled his previous home. Charlie was always busy tinkering and enjoyed attending Bluegrass Music festivals. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sporting events and loved teaching them his life skills.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Niedermier) Heefner who he married on May 12, 1973; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Tammi Heefner and Craig and Jennifer Heefner, both of New Washington; three grandsons, Jacob of Findlay, Ohio, Matthew of New Washington, Ohio and Everett of New Washington, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Leon Miller; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlene Niedermier, Richard Niedermier, Annie Friday, Francis (Phyllis) Niedermier, Louis (Geraldine) Niedermier, Leonard (Penny) Niedermier, Stephen Niedermier and Alice Ulicki; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his In-laws, Arthur and Bertha Niedermier; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Urban Niedermier, Jane Niedermier, Helen and Joseph Depinet, Joseph Ulicki and Joyce Niedermier.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions can be made to Stein Hospice.
