Please accept our deepest condolences over the untimely passing of Charlie. I first knew him in 1980 when he was an instructor for Financial Management in the Supply Management Officers Course. Some years later Pam & I saw him and met you at Jim & Susan's home on numerous occasions. He was an outstanding officer and a real gentleman. I was privileged to have served with him. I offer a farewell salute to a fellow soldier and friend.

Cynthia and I are deeply saddened to hear about the premature passing of our dear friend, military brother and faithful servant in the Lord, Charlie Hicks. I have so many fond memories of this soldier of mine, while I served as Commander of Charlie Company (Airborne) at Fort Lee. LTC Hicks at the time was under my command and I had a great deal of respect for his sense of service, his integrity and his love and affection for his dear wife, Astrid. We will surely miss his humor, his love for his country and his cowboy boots. Charlie, you and Astrid were special and dear friends, and I was honored to say a few words at your Anniversary Party at the Club. Thank you for considering Cynthia and I as worthy to share that special occasion with you both. We will truly miss you. Astrid, we love you dearly and pray that God will keep you during this difficult time in your life. If we can do anything for you and your family, please let us know. We agonize that we are so far away from you now as we have made Florida our new home, but we welcome you in our home at anytime. With deepest love and affection, LTC (R) Cynthia Watkins and MAJ (R) Tim Pishdad, “I Will Be Sure Always” Go Rigger!!
