Charles "Chunk" Theodore Higginbotham, Jr., age 48, of Clay Hill, Florida passed away on March 7, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center Downtown in Jacksonville, Florida. Chunk was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 12, 1977, to his loving parents, Charles Theodore Higginbotham, Sr. and Gwendolyn Garvin Higginbotham. Chunk was a lifelong resident of Clay Hill, Florida and graduated from Middleburg High School in 1995. From an early age, Chunk enjoyed the outdoors and had a deep love for hunting and fishing. Shortly after completing his education, he discovered his passion for the electrical trade and proudly worked as an electrician for nearly 20 years with Westside Electric, where he was currently employed. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who was well known for his strong work ethic. On April 1, 2006, Chunk married the love of his life, Ashley Terrell. They shared nearly 20 wonderful years together, were blessed with two amazing sons, and they created countless cherished memories as a family. Above all, Chunk was most passionate about his family and truly loved every moment spent with them. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sam Higginbotham and his mother-in-law, Sheila Terrell.

Chunk is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley Higginbotham of Clay Hill, FL; sons, Michael Higginbotham of Pensacola, FL and Ethan Higginbotham of Clay Hill, FL; parents, Charles Theodore Higginbotham, Sr. and Gwen Higginbotham of Middleburg, FL; maternal grandparents, Sam & Donna Garvin; father-in-law, Bennie Terrell of Clay Hill, FL; along with several extended family members and dear friends.

Chunk's family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 pm at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel, under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services in Starke, Florida.
