Charles Winston "Chuck" Hill

Charles Winston "Chuck" Hill passed away peacefully at his home in Benicia, California, on December 27, 2025. He was 83 years old.

Chuck was born on October 15, 1942, in St. Helena, California. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Following his military service, Chuck dedicated many years of his life to public service as an officer with the California Highway Patrol, a career that reflected his strong sense of duty, integrity, and commitment to helping others.

Known for his good heart and willingness to lend a hand, Chuck had a lifelong passion for classic cars and could often be found attending garage sales and swap meets in search of his next great find. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished time spent outdoors. A devoted sports fan, he enthusiastically followed both the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. Chuck also enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, always appreciating a good challenge.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Grace Hill; his sons, Philip Hill, and his wife, Jane; Duane Long, and his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Andrea Hill, and her husband, Justin; his brother, Ed Smith, and his wife, Jane; his sister, Charlene Joy; and his five beloved grandchildren, Jace, Casey, Sebastian, Abby, and Charlie. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, followed by burial at St. Dominic's Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered.
