Mariko and family, Sending my deepest condolences from the Havens family. You probably don´t remember, but your family visited our home in Rockville and Yokohama when you were little. Your parents were good friends with mine, and your father traveled down from NJ to attend my parents´ funerals. He kept in touch with periodic emails about events in Japan with a small circle, and I´ll miss these updates. I am sorry to hear of his passing. With sympathy, Sandra Havens

Charlie and I are fellow alumni. He being a 1960 graduate and me in 1975 grad from Fort Schuyler. We worked together in Bayonne New Jersey in the early 90s when I was Port Captain and he was the sage expert in all things shipping in the Office next-door to me. What a wonderful person he was in a source of great historical and professional information. More importantly, he was a good friend. Good friends are hard to come by!
To Charlie´s family: Charlie will be greatly missed and my condolences and prayers go out to you in this sad time. I hope you have some comfort in knowing he will always be with you in spirit.
