Charles M. "Chuck" Hooker

Charles M. "Chuck" Hooker passed away January 28, 2026, at the age of 81. He was born October 14, 1944, in Selma to the late Edwin H. Hooker and the late Anna McHenry Hooker.
He was long-time owner and President of Service Accounting System, Corp., from 1982 to 2019. Chuck and his late wife Janet were members of First Presbyterian Church Huntsville since 1980. In his earlier years Chuck served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1968, with one deployment to Vietnam from 1965 to 1966.
Chuck was the wonderful husband of 55 years to his late wife Janet; and loving father to his son, Michael B. Hooker. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Mary Leah Hooker; and his niece Melanie Claire Underwood.
Visitation will be Friday January 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 31, 2026, at 1 p.m. in John Allen Hall of First Presbyterian Church Huntsville, AL. Chuck will be laid to rest following a graveside service on Tuesday February 3, 2026, at 2 p.m., at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL. Dr. Karl Kling, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian, will officiate both services.
