Charles Hurt Obituary
Born on February 6, 1963, in Richmond, Virginia, to James and Eunice Hurt, Charles graduated from Lee-Davis High School in 1981. Following family tradition, he pursued a career in Railroading. First as a Brakeman, then a Conductor, and lastly, as a Locomotive Engineer working for CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Amtrak where he retired in 2023.
Charles was predeceased by both of his parents; brother, James Jr.; and great-nephew, Will Burks.
He is survived by his wife, Luisa; stepchildren, Joshua, Charlotte, and Ezekiel Bradley; sisters, Janice West, Beverly Ellis, and Karen Nuckols (Howard); nephew and nieces, Robert W. Burks (Tammie), Megan Webster, and Lauren Hines (Mark); and great-nephews, Jacob Burks and Landon Webster.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. The family will have a private service at a later date
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
