I first met Charlie in Annapolis when he was training Cal 25 sailors and then we kept bumping into each other at the Annapolis Maritime Museum summer concert series and I was performing with the Eastport Oyster Boys. We'd hang out, enjoy the music, the idyllic setting on Back Creek and revisit memories of our days as musicians working the DC bar scene and of course, Charlie ended up jamming on bass with the Boys. Charlie was well loved here in Annapolis with the musician and sailing crowds. Miss you Charlie ... See ya again one day. -tom

I too was at Booz Allen with Charlie and played softball with him. My favorite memory was going out after the game to Hank Dietl's in Rockville; it was kind of a dive bar complete with pig knuckles. One time Charlie was dancing (probably to Meatloaf) with one of other teammates Patty R and he let go of accidently during one of those crazy spins. Patty fell hard and for a few anxious moments there were several tough looking dudes that were ready and itching to defend Patty. Luckly, all was worked out and we continued with our fun evening. Charlie was a truly a great guy who loved to compete and live life. Rest in peace.

My husband and I both worked at Booz Allen with Charlie and I don´t think there was an event outside work where we didn´t all get together. We played softball and enjoyed many outings after the games, pretty regular happy hours at The Library (a disco-like place, not books lol), and countless parties. It isn´t possible to hear Meatloaf´s "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" and not think of Charlie. I wish we could be at his memorial but sadly we cannot (even though somehow we show up as attending in the evite we received). We will always think of Charlie with love, fondness and a bit of laughter. His smile was contagious! RIP Charlie.
