Mr. Charles Samuel Ivey, 84, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Mike McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. EST Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Ivey was born March 10, 1941 in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Robert Leo Ivey and Mary Gladys Kennington Ivey. He worked in the construction industry as a welder most of his career and owned and operated Ivey’s Portable Welding for over 40 years. Mr. Ivey had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed both camping and hunting. He also enjoyed classic cars and going to car shows. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Ivey will be remembered as someone who never set still and lived for his family.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Ivey and Leo Ivey and a brother-in-law, Pete Toole
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lynda Johnson Ivey; a daughter, Jennifer I. Lanehart and husband Jesse; a son, Chuck Ivey and wife Mitzi; two sisters, Priscilla Niebel and husband Jack and Gypsy Toole; a brother, Grady Ivey and wife Margie; grandchildren, Amber Estes (Ray), Jacob Lanehart (Alex) and Jonah Lanehart (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Maddie, Molly, Millie, Caleb, Caiden, Mason, Rhett and Weston; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Brenda James and Trena Hamilton.
