His dedication to service extended beyond his career; Charles honorably served in the United States Army, embodying the values of duty and patriotism. He was a Vietnam Veteran who received the Bronze Star medal for his heroic service.

Charles was a passionate outdoorsman, finding joy in every adventure he embarked upon. An avid hunter, he cherished the thrill of pursuing deer, dove, and quail. Fishing brought him peace, while his interest in history led him to explore for arrowheads, Civil War relics, and Native American pottery. These pursuits allowed him to connect deeply with nature and share fond memories with those he loved.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Moore Jackson, of Hahira; his mother, Mary Nola Downey Jackson McCrea, of Tifton; and his two children, Heather Jackson Spivey (Wesley) and Charles Matthew Jackson. Charles was a proud grandfather to Wesley Spivey, Jackson Spivey, Charles Spivey, Fenix Jackson, and Georgia Jackson, who will remember him fondly. He is also survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Jackson (Valerie) and Ed Jackson (Fonda), as well as his two sisters and brother-in-law, Nola Jackson Gentry (Garry) and Grace Jackson. Along with his four step sons, David Stone, Christopher Stone, Tommy Stone and Coy Stone and his eight step grandchildren, Cadence Stone, Dalton Stone, Jackson Stone, Lilly Grace Stone, Clara Stone, Reece Stone, Deryk Stone and Rachel Stone.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Oscar Floyd Jackson, Jr.
