Today I went to AT&T Park in San Francisco. I was part of the honor guard today and I was given a card with a name printed on it. It was Charles Gregory John. He will never be forgotten. I will pray for him and his family. Thank You

This is the 8th anniversay of 911. You were one of my lions brother and you served with me as a zone chair. I remember saying good by to you after our zone meeting of 9/10/01 not realizing it was the last time I would see you. Rest in peace brother lion.

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

Charlie was not only a co-worker, he was a friend. We used to meet up on the E train in the morning frequently and talk about Charlie's family, the Lions, and his trips. We met so many of Charlie's friends, family and fellow Lions at his funeral and no one will forget his great personality and smile anytime soon.

GREGORY WAS A VERY GOOD STEPFATHER TO ME AND SHOWED ME HOW TO BE A WELL MANNERED YOUNGLADY.I AM HIS FIFTH STEPCHILD AND AFTER CAME HIS THREE KIDS (MY SISTER AND TWIN BROTHERS)WHO HE ALSO RAISED VERY WELL.HE WAS THE ONLY FATHER I EVER HAD AND RAISED ME FROM WHEN I WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE WHEN I NEEDED HIM AND SOMETIMES IT HURTS TO EVEN THINK HE IS GONE OR TO EVEN THINK ABOUT THE DAY OF SEPTEMBER 11.SOME DON'T THINK I WAS AFFECTED WHEN HE PASSED BECAUSE I NEVER SHARE MY FEELINGS WITH OTHERS OFTEN BUT I WAS HURT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE FAMILY. I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY AND SO WILL THE MANY OTHERS WHO KNEW HIM.

Along with 3 children, he was also survived by 5 step-children. I am #3. He has been a father to me since 8 years old. I learned alot about being a responsible adult and father from him. He was the type of man that was never in the middle of controversy. He was a very proud & dignified man. He loved his family with all his heart and also showed me how to take life in strides. He will be missed, terribly.

Gregory was my distant cousin and we lived in Guyana together, even though we were not partically close because my family left Guyana earlier and i went into the military soon after i still remember that i would ask about him and his family whenever i called home. I was saddened when i heard he was in the building and agonized for days with his family, he was a caring young man, father and husband...he will be greatly missed and was greatly loved

Charles,

We all still miss your smiling face and friendly laugh . . . You did your job and manned your post as a security guard as valiantly as any emergency worker w/o the proper praise. May your soul rest in eternal peace.

May God Bless you and watch over the ones that you left behind on 9/11/01. I did not know you or anyone else that lost their life that day but I will never forget what happened to so many wonderful people. Rest in peace...........

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
