Charles Raymond Kacmarcik, age 80, died in Tulsa on February 14, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joe and Annie (Mottl) Kacmarcik on Nov. 21, 1942. A graduate of Western Reserve University. He was a chemist who specialized in electroplating processes. He lived and worked in Detroit, Michigan, then in Dallas, Texas, and for the past 44 years was a resident of Oklahoma, first in Norman and then Tulsa.
Known as Charlie or Chuck by his family and friends, he was interested in topics ranging from bicycling to American history, geology, Native American culture, politics and beyond. His broad knowledge combined with a genuinely friendly personality and positive attitude made him a pleasure to be with. While living in Norman he was a leader in the Boy Scouts and an enthusiastic member of the Bicycle League of Norman. He was a longtime member of Sierra Club. He will be remembered fondly by his friends from these groups and by his business associates from his long career at Udylite, Hilti, Delta Faucet, A-Brite and Southwest.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom Kacmarcik. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Kacmarcik of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son Cameron (Valerie) Kacmarcik of Euless, Texas, grandsons Xander and Zachary Kacmarcik of Euless; brother Don Kacmarcik (Flo) of Sarasota, Florida ; stepsons Jason Ethridge of Norman, Oklahoma, and Jared Ethridge of Noble, Oklahoma; nephews Robert, Gary, Ronald, Michael, Steve and David Kacmarcik, niece Leanne Blair, and other family members.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Charlie's life at Stanleys Funeral Home, 3959 East 31 Street, Tulsa. The gathering will begin at 1:00, with remarks and remembrances at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
