Charles Orrin Koelln, age 79 of Cosmos, Mn passed away on Thursday March 7, 2024 at Cokato Manor, Cokato Mn. He was the son of Orrin and Maude (Pence) Koelln. He was born on October 7, 1944 at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, OK. He was Baptized at Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake, Mn 1945 and later confirmed at United Methodist Church Litchfield in 1958. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1963. Charles joined the United States Air Force in August 1963. On his 20th birthday he reported for duty to Altus Air Force Base.
On July 3, 1970, he was united in marriage to Barbara Allen. This marriage was blessed with 3 children. Kyle, Kent and Karla. They had 53 wonderful years together.
During his life he worked as a milk truck driver, worked at Rockite Silo and for the last 29 1/2 years before retiring he was a steam engineer at First District in Litchfield. He was on the Cosmos Fire and Ambulance for 20 years, 10 of them as Fire Chief. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Branson, Missouri for Veterans Week to meet up with new and old friends. His favorite thing to do was going to car shows with his Ford Ranchero’s. He loved spending time with his family and friends drinking coffee around the picnic table. He also treasured spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Barbara and children Kyle Koelln and (Kristi Maahs) of Grove City, Mn, Kent (Christina) Koelln of Hutchinson, Mn, Karla (Mark) Binder of Hutchinson, Mn. His Grandchildren Lindsay (Chase), Ashlee, Betty, Matthew (Kelsey), Mackenzie and Great Grandchildren Morgan and Callen. Brothers Ralph (Deb) Koelln of Yale, IA. Butch Koelln of Watkins, MN. Sister Delores Wendorff of Shakopee, MN. Sisters in law Ruby Koelln of Bloomington, MN, Harriet Koelln of Litchfield, MN, Gwen (Boyd) Thomas of Prior Lake, MN and many Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
He is preceded in Death by his parents, Sisters Dorothy Koelln, Muriel (Leon) Ewer, Brothers Carl (Cathy) Koelln, Kenneth Koelln, Duane Koelln and Brother-in-law Gary Wendorff.
