Dr. Kutzleb was a friendly, unassuming font of local history. I enjoyed several of his courses for teacher recertification.
We often crossed paths at Boulder Park and I was lucky enough to sit and chat with him on a warm fall day on his front porch.
We've all lost a kind and gentle soul---all of us are diminished by his passing yet nourished by his teaching.

Charlie, thank you so much for all you did for Pikes Peak Community College and for me! You were such a good fellow. When I came to town you hired me as a part-timer and let me build my teaching experience in all things US so that ultimately I got my FT position and have had a rewarding career there for 33 years! Thank you for being supportive enough that you let me determine curriculum, offer new courses, and take on new challenges. I love Colorado history as you did and have used your work on it as a resource, as well as that, of course, of your CO mentor. You were important to PPCC!
