Chuck is one of those iconic personalities at NASA that I had the privilege to work with. What an honor to have known him. Rest In Peace, Doc.

You are missed my friend.

Chuck, It’s been a while since you passed, but my admiration and respect for you will never fade. To this day, I tell stories of when I worked for and later with you. Few people cross your path that leave that kind of impact. Rest In Peace my friend.

Chuck was not only a mentor to me during my internship at NASA but an inspiration on how to have a sincere, forthright discussion with a patient. I will always remember his candid nature, wit and sense of humor. He made a tremendous impact on me and I will miss him.

I was so saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. He left a legacy that will continue on through all those who knew him and worked with him. Take comfort in knowing that so many share your loss. His life made a lasting impact, for as long as man strives for the stars, he was one who helped pave the way and thus will live on.

We were saddened to read about Chuck's passing. He was a teammate of Jim's on the NASA Blazers and you were neighbors of Mary Lou's parents on Devon in Nassau bay.

It was a privilege and honor to work with Dr. LaPinta at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. In honor of Dr. LaPinta, I have made a contribution to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital in his Memory. This gift will continue to bring hope to the children of
St. Jude today, tomorrow and beyond.

Chuck; I am glad our paths crossed, it was a pleasure to know you and work with you.

Chuck LaPinta was one of those rare individuals in life who gained my respect, and retained it during my time working directly with him as a Physiological Training Technician, and indirectly as a Test Safety Officer. He cared not about how many letters one had after their name, but only about what one did. Though I have not seen him in years, I often enjoy telling friends about when I worked with the "Flight Surgeon to the Stars. He was a loss to NASA. He is a loss to the world. I considered him my friend, and I will always hold his memory in my heart. Rest in peace Chuck.

Dr LaPinta will always be remember for being the kind, outgoing, friendly man he was. He would always ask "How are you doing" and the bottles of wine at Christmas he would give out. He always had a smile. Many memories and every time he walked in the clinic the atmosphere was lighter and just fun. He was a Professionals Professional. God Bless You Chuck LaPinta

Sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. We will never forget our trip to the Bahamas in the 1970's with your entire family. He was a great guy. Claranita and Beenie Haefner.

Dr. LaPinta helped raise me in my early days at NASA. He was an outstanding flight surgeon, to me even a better friend and physician who was always studying and sharing knowledge. He is missed.

I, was always very proud of Chuckie,(which being the youngest of his siblings was allowed to call him that). Chuck was always so very kind especially to my mother Beverly, and he made her know that she was always close to his heart. I appreciate all he did for her throughout the years. Still have all of his letters that were postmarked from NASA and the Shuttles. May he rest in peace. He passed away on Bev's birthday and I know it had to be a wonderful gift for her to see him again.
