With full hearts and reverence, we announce that our beloved brother, Charles Locklear of Myrtle Beach, NC was called home to rest on June 4, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born to Gracie Lee Locklear of Red Springs, NC and the late Theodore Locklear in Shannon, NC. Charles was a father, a veteran, a brother, and a gentle soul whose presence left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Monique Williams, Jamel Locklear of Long Beach, NY and with deep love he also claimed Derrick Jennings of New Hampshire, and Takeya Williams of Hempstead, NY as his own—though not by blood, they were forever his in heart. Charles was a proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry his strength, laughter, and spirit into the future. He is also survived by his sisters: Melody Rose Locklear of Red Springs, NC and Margie Ann Locklear of Ellerbe, NC and he joins in eternal peace his sister Victoria Locklear, and brothers Carey Drake, Johnny Ray, Timothy, and Theodore Jr.
In the sacred moment of his crossing, Charles sent a message from Spirit:
“Wow… no pain, no worries.”
We take comfort in knowing he is free, whole, and wrapped in the love of his ancestors.
This photo was taken on one of our joyful days at the ocean—feet in the water, hearts lifted. May his memory ripple across generations, like the waves he now sails.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
“May the waves carry him gently home.”
