May God who see your tears and pain of heart comfort and stenghten you to go from one day to the next in this time of such deep sorrow. For He is with those who are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit He saves.

I still have his recording of Messiah from the 1960s, one of the first to return to Baroque style.

May you rest in peace, maestro.

May light perpetual shine upon you, Charles. Your dedication to the craft of making beautiful music and perseverance in insuring that it was the music that was spotlighted rather than the conductor has provided a role model which all conductors should emulate. Blessings, Charles. Dixie, ND

His beautifully composed music was a wonderful contribution to many and will be missed. Please draw comfort from the beautiful words recorded at Isaiah 33:24. May they bring comfort to the family.

At age 12 I heard my first recording of "Messiah" conducted by Charles Mackerras and I wore out that old vinyl. Thank you, Sir Charles, for a lifetime of music!

We appreciate your contribution to music. May the love of those around the family help through this difficult time. Find encouragement in Rev. 21:4, "God will wipe out our tears and death will be no more."

Proverbs 16:31 relates, "Gray-headedness is a crown of beauty when it is found in the way of righteousness." Mr. Mackerras was blessed with longevity. Yet, living a long life does not change the sorrow that death brings. Remember, 1Peter 5:7 which states, "while you throw all your anxiety upon him because he cares for you." May you have peace and the strength needed from our Heavenly Father during this time.
